AUGUST 14

Monday good day all day but awful day, and hot, I called Adima Mae up at dinner time & she ask me to come up tomorrow night, I said I would. Robert & I cut tobacco all day. These men cultivated tobacco, carried my car up to Frank Ward's to get some new tires put on, have cut 12 hundred sticks of tobacco.

AUGUST 15

Tuesday Good day all day all the men worked. We cut tobacco all day. Frank Ward brought my car back in the afternoon. I went up to see Adima Mae at night and got home 11:30 oclock, Mary to work as usual.

AUGUST 16

Wednesday fair day all day, Joe, Robert & I cut tobacco in morning, rest of men did not work. Mr Myers to see daddy, I called Admina Mae up at dinnertime. Bob & I to Marbloro so I could register for Army, then I spent rest of evening with Admina May. sold 1 ton of straw to Mr Wheeler $20.00, did not go anywhere at night.

AUGUST 17

Thursday, good day all day but hot and no rain yet Nanie, Robert, and I putting potes in hay [[barns?]] over on other place, an all day job. Mother canned corn, Bob Via & I to movies at Waldorf to Movies, saw "Wing & a Prayer", got home 12 oclock. daddys birthday today.
