AUGUST 22
Tuesday raining nearly all day, tied up [[?]] leaves in the morning, called Adina Mae up at dinner time and told her I would be up for the afternoon, went up their after dinner and stayed with her until 6 oclock. first rain since July 26. did not go anywhere at night. Hope Adina Mae can go to Marshall Hall tomorrow Mary to work as usual. 

AUGUST 23
Wednesday fair day all day but some rain in afternoon. Robert, Mother, Daddy & I down to Marshall hall for the day. Mary to work. Adina May, Bob & Mr & Mrs Via was down there. Mary did not get home until 8 oclock because of flood they had in Washington. [[Norrise?]] worked.

August 22-1851- American yacht won cup at international regatta.
          1903- Yacht "Reliance" won the first race for the America cup.
          1911- Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" stolen from the Louvre, Paris.

AUGUST 24
Thursday good sunny day, Joe, Jim, Morris, Robert & I cut tobacco all day, cut 797 sticks. Mrs Freeman, Gorge Aist. for Dept of Agri is checking up on amount of crop raised & etc. I called Adina Mae up at dinnertime and ask her about tonight. she said she would not be home until late tomorrow night. ask her to go to movies on sunday.

AUGUST 25
Friday Good day all day, we cut tobacco all day and hung it up but as the [[?]], I did not go anywhere at night, Mary to work as usual. I called Adina Mae up [[crossed out]] t [[/crossed out]] when I went after Mary.
