We never felt any earthquake shock and hope we never shall but crime seems to be on the increase & accidents on the increase also, we dont know when we are safe these days. or nights money they are going to get by hook or by crook. we had two fires Friday in town neither being dangerous. I cant see how Ella dares to live alone as she does. She says she is never afraid but lonesome. She has two sisters they have children. both husbands are dead in your old age we craves our relation to be near one. Lottie has cared for Ellises mother, also her own, I think she did well. her mother was sick when we were there and grew weaker, she finished her bed quilt before she died, all her life she was a worker. we have not seen Lena for two weeks. she may turn up later in the day, she makes me tired. talks on one thing too long. I suppose by now Mary has got home. she does not realize my condition. thinks because she is able to travel that I am also. glad she can enjoy life & go around as she does, plenty of money & children to take her. we are living in a fast age I only hope Roservelt & Curly [[Curley]] may get left, it does not look so now, they are going to ruin the country all for themselves. they are schemers. no one wants to be at the head of the country the more muddle its in. at present gone to the devil, not much to look forward to. Ma
