Dear Folks

The wind has got out of the South West and the weather is a little cooler & it is real windy lots of the leaves are falling from the trees and covering the ground.

Bill Gillings was here last night one of her old neighbors. I went to bed after a while, she motioned for me to, as she knew I did not enjoy their talk about their old friends in Holbrook, he brings her mail over.

Alice came up to call yesterday forenoon, she is looking much better, her teeth made her trouble in her face. she had them removed, so now she is all right. Mrs. Brahman she has got rid of. they took her up to Mrs Fannie Camerons. Alice was glad to get rid of her, but would like another boarder she thinks, she has a teacher, she does not set a good enough table for the price they have to pay, Forest Holmes widow thought. she left on account of it. they like where they are living. its too steep a rent though.

I am anxiously waiting for my chrysanthemums to bloom they begin to show their color. now if the frosts will only stay off they will be nice.

Transcription Notes:
Is Bill's last name actually Gillings? as there was a William Gillings from Wellsley, where it had been mentioned that Mrs. B had gone to visit some old friends from Holbrook - in another letter.
