Mrs Bird who bought Tom Swan's hotel died Monday after a long sickness. wonder who buys the old land mark & buildings next, glad the old place was kept up so well. not many of the old places are left, or the people that I used to know, they are fast going one by one. This morning it is much cooler, the sun is shining and bids fair for a very sunny day. our moon makes the nights very pleasant. we got but little rain if any during the night I think most of our showers go around us. I am up early this morning at 6 turning on the heat for the bath room so then go back + dress the kitchen fire I have just made up. breakfast we are in no hurry for its a very simple meal for both of us. it is time to turn on the radio for the news and weather report. we shall not need ice, yesterday we were thinking we stopped taking ice too soon. today it is cool enough to think we do not need any ice for our milk to keep cool.
