the same. she has a host of friends here in town. she likes Stoughton much better than Holbrook. she received a letter yesterday from an Italian lady friend, who usually spends her winters in the town where Mrs. Blissed, having married a man there, but is now a widow. she said she was worried over the war.  I guess every body feels anxious over the out come of it. yesterday being a holiday every body was riding it was a glorious day.  all the stores were open, but there were no papers, printed. but she always takes the Sunday Post. we shall have that to read to day. we had a beautiful time up to the old place the house was terrible cold.  I did not mind, but am afraid Anna, Morts wife, about froze, she is delicate, and used to a very warm house.  Mrs. Harrington talked a blue stream in fact Blanch was squelched, she could  not get a word in edgways she said, but for once she listened.  Winnie came while we were up there.  before I forget it, let me say, I got the check OK thanks for the same. Mrs Barries sister sent this Praying Mantis to her and she is sending it to you thinking you would appreciate it. she says its a handsome insect for she has seen them in the live state. I have been over to get some Northern Spies the others are gone by. I like the apple sauce. I got some green tomatoes for picklelilly she likes it I am going to make it next week Monday.
