Dear Folks

We had a frost last night I had gathered all my mary golds I had two big bunches. I covered up my geraniums & the rest of my plants I had taken in to the porch in flowerpots so my garden is all safe. I hated to have it come just as my things were so pretty, but the frosts have hung off pretty well, the weather reports predict an early and a severe winter. my chrysanthemums are full of thrifty buds. but am afraid the frosts will be too early & severe for us to enjoy much of them. our seasons are not long enough for them, its too bad. I am still waiting for Soper guess he is still waiting for money enough to get his plates. he must have a job to live these times. he says Georgie has a bad heart so she cant support the family now.

I called up Maude this noon it seems she & Ralph have been up to the white mountains & down in Maine, to Ralph widows. she is coming up to make them a visit soon. Henrys folks moved Tuesday a week ago to day. she is going to take me down to see them. they are nicely situated she says. I suppose they are better off by themselves. but guess they will
