Dear Folks

Three beautiful days in succession. Monday we put on the heat in the morning to warm up the house. then it warmed after the sun came up sufficiently to do the rest of the day she is a cold mortal, so to night may be cold for her again I dont mind a cool room, I like it much better in fact as you know, she has gone to the movies this afternoon. this morning I went over after the last mess of the macintosh apples no more on the tree, they are a good flavored apple, both for eating & for sauce or pies. I wish you might have some of them. I do wish you were so you might run in once in a while. I miss you more this time since you went home than ever before it seems. They are still fixing the road front of the new sidewalks. it seems a long drawn out job which the taxpayers have to settle. I guess it is better not to own property these days.

Lena said she had made lots of jellies, jams, conserves & grape juice. she does not eat it herself, but the attic woman does. I guess she likes to do such things even if she gives it away. its a good thing to take up her mind if nothing more. but I think its nerve racking work, if you have much of it to do.
