Stoughton September 29th 1935
Dear Folks.
A nice day after it cleared from the storm of Saturday, during the night + a little warmer. yesterday it was dull & cold so we needed a good fire in the stove to keep us comfortable. a cold October is predicted. we had our first snow storm in October last year you went home in it I remember it was very frosty & it grew much warmer the farther south you went.

Lena has just gone from here. she came about two hours ago & is looking well. much better than early in the summer. she seems to be looking for plants for winter so guess she intends to make it her home in Stoughton this winter. I think she is situated among nice people & in as pleasant quarters as she could possibly be in. Mrs Barry has been to church & walked both ways she is not always lucky to get rides Careta wanted her up yesterday afternoon to stay to supper she told her being a dull day I needed her at home here for company so she refused her invitation. we set back our clocks last night & to day now we are on the old time.
