Dear Folks

We are having very hot muggy weather sunless this morning but in hopes the wind gets into the cool quarter today. it has been South all the week.

The new family are music mad their radio is going most of the time we hate it. so do our neighbors in the Ballentine house but theres nothing one can do.

Yesterday Blanch went out to supper up to Caretas while she was up there the Burrells came & I sent them up there. knowing B was anxious to see them. they were loaded down with vegetables. for her. they have a store, there were tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, string beans, plumbs, & then Careta had her take home corn, lettuce, oranges, grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, apples. things she was overloaded with. Mrs Marden sends her things, she is very generous & has more eats than she can get away with. so she gives them to her friends. then she took her to ride after the Burrells left them. Mrs Gilzer called me up to ask me to go to ride Mrs Hammond also went with us. she was going to the Tuberculosis hospital to see Ernestine Legg from there to Holbrook then abington & Brockton

[[top margin]] hope this reaches you by Saturday. did the little slips get there safe & were they all right? Ella has just been here. she is looking old and thin & is also lonely & blue. Mrs B is talking to her cousin on the telephone. she calls her up daily. and they had her over to meet Frank Toomey all the evening they used to sign [[sing]] to gather I did not go. but went to bed cool to day wind in the NW. Transcription Notes:
Can't figure out the name: Gilzer, or Filzer. There were Gelzer families in Holbrook, nearby, but can't find and Gilzer or Filzer on Censuses in the area. She spells names wrong frequently or mixes up spellings. She can't get Bowes right, and she even spells Careta wrong sometimes. I think she's just bad at spelling so I think we just need to type what she writes.
