Stoughton January 24th 1987
Dear Folks.
Another cloudy day after a moonligt night & a clear morning. I hung my clothes out & then the sun went in & now it looks like rain or more snow. my clothes are frozen. no knowing whats coming next.
Mrs Barry went to church so her conscience is clear & so is mine. We neither of us slept well last night. I was nervous so made it up in the morning. got up late around nine O clock it dont matter much the days are long enough & it saves fuel.
It's no comfort readin the papers, too many disasters, floods, murders, fires + kidnappers where will such things end. There is not much more to write. I don't go from one week to another + no one come to the house. but if they come to stay I am nervous and don't sleep at night. People who have cars get the recreation these days, but they are welcome to it as as I am concerned. I am contented to stay at home + feel that I am lucky to have a home.
I hope the flood don't grow any worse it's terrible. We cannot realize any such disaster coming to anybody. I hope it does not reach your part of the state.
