for it the next night & got my sleep good & plenty. then she went to Chickataubut meeting the next day & I was free to do just as I pleased & everything was quiet.

Maude called up yesterday & said the baby was there & guess she takes the care of him most of the time. he must have been sent as a comfort to them in their trouble. for he certainly is that. Ella is far from happy, although she can getout. she says she is lonesome & sits & cries there at times, I guess evenings, when she is alone. if she had a person to run in & cheer her up it would be nice. but one never gets over their loss. I am glad your folks are getting better, there is much trouble caused by this mild & stormy weather but winter is gradually wearing away. next month will be short & the frogs peep in March always. & sometimes before so they say, but I haven't heard them.
I am sewing on those little slips, have got one done. Ella was surprised when she saw my work. its a pity she had not something to occupy her time & mind with, she never sews but is a good housekeeper. I am happy when there is something to busy my fingers with, for thats what I have always been used to. Careta has found out that Nelly is most as old as I am, she was born in 1856 the year after I was & didn't know it. They were looking at a picture taken of Nelly & her mother & on it was the time of her birth. Careta saw it the other day at her house. Ma
