Dear Folks

The weather turned cold, wind got around into the North West, so yesterday it was sunless & we turned on the heat in the afternoon to warm up a bit. the heater was fine. it took but half the time to make the water in the radiator warm. so I put in the window after taking out the screen to day is windy though sunny I took up my Poinsettias all but one & that I am going to give to Mrs Gibhart if she wants it. I have got most of my plants up now & on the porch I am looking for frosts any time now so mean to get ahead of them. as Mrs Barry was going down street Tuesday Old Marm Barry came out & said as she was coming out of the Bruce place she about broke her neck caught her foot in the step. well she told her its too bad you didnt. she said that aught to be fixed well Mrs Barry said thats not your business or mine. its up to Mrs Holmes' & she will fix it when the man gets & have her own done also. Oh! I am sorry I beg your pardon the old hag said, they had been talking matters over she + the Bruces. she better stay at home + clean out her bed bugs I guess there are plenty to keep her busy at it for a while.
