Dear Folks,
We have had a cold snap way down below freezing, [[strikethrough]]too under[[strikethrough]] 26° the thermometer registered Tuesday morning two morn [?] in go with very white frosts. up in Maine they had snow that lasted all day many of their potatoes were still in the ground. I got my flower pots I had on the porch into the kitchen just in time before the freeze.  my chrysanthemums aside from looking rather wilted survived it pretty well. those down by the little Musician[?]all in bloom + wish you might see them they are beautiful but dont send any more for I cant set them out + there is no place for them and I have enough. last night there was a farewell gathering to her church with a large crowd she sang a solo + they had a lively piece at the ending + Mrs Barry requested the audience to joyn in in the chorus which they did to the echo. Percy acted as master of ceremonies. Jimmie Lehan was there, he made the best speech of the evening + when Mr Morris made his speech afterwards, said he had learned a good lesson from something Jimmie had said, he paid a very touching tribute to Mr Marshall + his wife + so did Morris.  she told me all about the meeting this morning + related a good many of the speeches she has a keen memory + enjoys these times she says they
