Dear Doris

It has been very mild [?] to this when the wind shifted during the night to the N West so this morning the weather is in the middle 20[?] our sudden changes are bad lots of people notice them by [?] colds and a great many old people go suddenly. I suppose Sidney is on his trips [?] and you are living alone or having company meanwhile. I enjoy those little tablets you sent, they are something that comes in handy if you don't want to use a large sheet of paper to thank one for a little gift for instance and those dress goods I think very pretty it will make [?] nicely for a dress later on your presents were all nice those blankets looked good and warm. my one mended blanket I had been using on my bed I cannot find any where, have hunted every where for it, so have given it up as a bad job, did you think it too poor to use? it was simply worn[?] at the foot. stones wear them out.
Lena sent me a card like yours she them around to her friends instead of Xmas cards. I did not send any; too much bother for me but I had a lot sent me they send more every year seems to me the fad grows.
