Dear Folks

The first day we have sun any sun for a week. A nice warm pleasant day. We got our clothes day a wash day for most every body, on account of a week of rain. Alice & Percy invited Mrs. Barry down to the school house to hear some good music from 8' till 9 o'clock. then they were coming to bring her home. she was not crazy about going but hated to refuse them the second time they have asked her. she does'nt like going out evenings. there was just snow enough to make it slippery going this forenoon, but the sun has melted most of it away. I was very careful when I emptied my ashes early this mornings. I have written my letter & sent it down to Lizzie & Charley D Capen. they are lucky to have Rachel & children left near them in their old age. Mary French calles there every year, she says Lizzie has grown old looking in the past year or two. it may be she will go before he does. All the care comes on her I presume. she has seen a great deal of trouble through life. & has bourn up wonderfully through it all. not many of her children met with natural deaths. she certainly has waited on him
