I often wonder how Mamie is getting along & if Ethel & Margaret fit in well, they are all pretty spunky but for their mothers sake, they may haul in their horns, as Grandma used to say.

During our storm it leaked down in my room, so I called up Kimpter & he came up & looked at it, but dont know of anything he did. at any rate the gutters he cleaned out in the fall, he may come up later on & fix it for the winter it needs to have something done before it spoils our plastering. I took him up to see how it looked from the leaking in. he is very good to understand & tend to things & helps me out in immergencies. we like him very much. theres always something giving out about a house. I presume the house you live in is terrible hardly fit to live in it is a shame when you pay such a rent & she is so sure of it every month she would hate to lose you. glad you are getting out & having good times & meeting people you like. hope by now your xmas is mostly seen to. Mrs Barry is enjoying her xmas shopping, she is getting a lot to send away & thourly enjoys giving. she is buying cards by the wholesale. she has got another little present for Doris it did'nt cost much, neither did the other she sent in my package, but it may please the child. I am not giving much & its better so not able to go to get any I sew & that's all I can do now. there is nothing else I can think of its most time for her to come home now
