Stoughton December 10th 1936

Dear Folks

We have had two cloudy days, no sun it says rain & warmer to night. if it does not snow I am satisfied but to night there is a chilly air. I called up Miles Standish to see if he could tell me any thing about Kanute. he says he is just home from the hospital & a nephew is caring for him. he says his mind is all right & that he was over to see him yesterday. then I told him I was glad to hear it & hoped he would be well cared for, as he was good to Abbie. he said he was good to every body thats so, said I.

The crowd with Mrs. Barry went to Whitman & took Nellie Standish with them, she does not realize that Ned her son, has robbed her by making her sign away her property to him, so they did'nt tell her, but Lollie who works in the library, was bragging about it. if she had been wise she would held her noise. Blanche Hammond works in the library also & when Mrs. Barry went to play cards with her crowd down to Alice Tildens Monday, Blanche Hammond was there & told the crowd all about what Lottie was bragging about & said if they went to court she would be willing to go as a witness & tell what she said but Nellie would never take it to court. she thinks too much of him & besides she is not able to fight it her heart is very bad.
