Dear Folks

The day is cloudy + looks very much like snow but hope not. yesterday was as fine a day as one could ask for. not cold & to day its mild. I wrote a letter yesterday to Lena, her folks are probably with her by now. she may forget herself in having other things to think about and be better, she is far from well. There is lots of talk here over Nellie Standish. while she was sick her son Ned got her to sign away her property to him. she was'nt herself so did'nt know what she was doing poor thing. now she dont own a cents worth & Lottie is strutting around with a big diamond ring & saying they had got her just where they wanted her & that there was no need of her working in the library any longer, she is treated like a dog & is fast losing her mind. so the next thing they probably will do will be to send her to the insane asylum. Lottie is a terrible tempered person & mocks Nelly down at nothing some thing ought to be done. Lareta says she looks like a tiger when she is mad & is not a fit person to live with much worse a motherinlaw. she has a weak heart so cant last long she is worried & dont remember much now. quicker she dies the better. she surely is getting paid back for treating her mother the way she did
