Just a few lines. It has been cold [[?]] this morning was down to 20° but the sun warmed us up. Charley, Lillian + Gladys came in their car to see us this afternoon they were looking in good  health also happy but disgusted over the election. the Harrington the same. am glad you appreciated the Japanese pictures Mrs Barry sent. what did Hugo say about the one you painted this summer up to Georgies pond? glad you are getting interested in things you like + hope the pleasure you take will do you some good + help you over the rough places in life. every lady ought to have something worth while in life besides amusement + gossip. we are feeling as well as usual + hope you are the same more next time Ma
