Mrs Harrington came Friday to see us & tell about the man who wants to buy the old place. he wants her to let him have it & think he will get it if he can possibly raise the money. she asked me to save her a piece of my old shawls I feel like giving them to her, but Mrs Barry says no they are valuable & she thinks I ought to save them for you & let you know first, she says a piece of them is all she has ever asked for any way she is always doing for me. now Mrs Barry was going over to Holbrook but did not know how she could get over. they came along in time to carry her there. they never will let her pay for the gas, which is the least she could do for them. I guess they are very poor & are going to let the down stairs untill this man can raise the money to buy. I feel that he is honest but you can never tell. Mrs Harrington brought us the bibles to show us. he is giving us each after our names are put on them in gilt letters. they have the markers (his patent) they are beautiful. & the money he will get for these will be something. he is going to create a home for blind children & give it my name. so his intentions seem good. the Christian Sience people are opposed to him. they dont want them to sell him the place. Mrs Barry says they had a full church & the Bishop was there he greeted her with great gusto he used to be her old pastor & they all received her with much affection & wanted her to sing but she didnt. she rode both ways. I dont hear from Kimptis. he must know we are anxiously waiting. Ma
