Stoughton October 11th 1936

This has been a clearing day after the storm of yesterday, the sun comes out occasionally. I am sitting down early to [[?]] my letters trusting Bill comes to carry it off tonight and puts it in the office tonight where it goes out early in the morning. They mailman does not every morning. the trees are looking lovely but since the rain they [[the lecones?]]are fast falling the ground is covered with them. 
I called up Mrs. Harrington yesterday to find out about Emily but she did not know the particulars, as she was waiting 'till after the funeral before she went there, she said the lady who lives the next door to Emily wa very neighborly to her, so she was not all forsaken. Mrs. Harrington is coming down this week she has been waiting she says, to know about this man who wants to buy the house, so to tell us about it, for he has to got to raise the money in order to buy it, meanwhile she thinks she may have to rent it. I guess she is having hardwork to make a living so is anxious to get in touch with his old job again. I pity her darn if I dont, she says he is content to take life easy but she is not used to such a life + is up and coming she tells me all about his affairs, they are not rightly mated, both very good heated + ready to do
