Stoughton July 16th 1936

Dear Folks
To day its nice & cool. after our shower the wind got around to the NWest sometime during the night, so we are having a nice cool day to day. hope you can be cool. the air is good to breathe. yesterday was our hottest day 90 [[degree symbol]]. it took my strength there was no air stirring. Mr Harrington came down in his car towards night & I thought he never would go. his little Bernard came with him, say he is a little devil, they are too easy with him. Mrs Barry does not like him, she has hard work to keep her hands off. he is bound to do as he pleases, in spite of what they say & will stick out 'till he does, they have never conquered him. Careta has just come for Mrs Barry to go to Brockton & then they are going to keep her to stay to supper. she likes good stuff to eat & she does get it when she goes to Caretas. they always have hearty food for supper. thank God I never have abused my self by eating. most of people eat heartier food than they should. then suffer the consequences after wards. tomorrow the crowd are going to take Mrs Barry to some place & give her a birthday celebration & feast. everybody is after her she is a great favorite with young
