Stoughton July 8th 1936 

Dear Folks
           
This has been an ideal day with plenty of cool air stirring. I have been here by my lonesome this afternoon, there has been enough to take up my mind so I did not mind it. I called up Maude & for a wonder found her at home. for the last week she has been entertaining a colledge chum of young Ralphs. she enjoyed him so much they talked over events about his days they spent together, while at colledge & it was very interesting to them both. Henry & his wife have just returned from a trip they spent over the holiday at Hampton beach NH, where they went on their wedding tour. & they left the baby with Maude, so since their return they have talked thing over with Maude & now have dicided to let a tenement in the house, so she can stay right there & not have to leave her home. I inquired after Anna how she was getting along since the funeral, she says she is bearing up bravely as Mort told her to before he died, he had a good talk with her before he died & told her to be brave as there was a plenty to carry on with & it wouldn't be for long probably. she told Maude she was going to follow her example in trying to make the best of
