things, as she had done. Mrs Barry took a ride with Careta last night down to see her older brother, he is a lawyer & lives down to Quincy & more sensible than this one, who lives in town. he married a good sensible woman, a Wellsley colledge graduate & a perfect lady she had money. she advised Careta to drop the fuss she is having over the house keeper, her stealing from Mrs Marden, & so fourth but she has put the matter into the fighting brothers hands & she says its too late. he is going to fight to the finish, they may get left. I hope they do. no doubt but what she stole, but how are they going to prove it was not given to her by Mrs Marden who was fond of her. Careta is two faced & a liar the brother the same, but the other brother is very different & the wife the same. Careta had no love for Mrs Marden she barely tolerated her & was glad when she died the lawyer who drew up the will is on a vacation & they have not heard the will read & cannot touch a thing. they have lost the key to the safety deposit box & dont know where it is, hunted every where. Mrs Barry heard them discuss everything so dont say anything about this. we keep our mouths shut. Careta is an awful blabber & the brother here tells her to keep things quiet, but it will be impossible for her to do so we think. well its getting late so I will close. I made another little dress out of some cloth I had left, but they are in the drawer with the other dresses. so when you come up I will have to try them on Ma
