At one point of the wall it is not very far down to the talus & my men said that when they were sulphur gathering here some years ago one of the men was let down by ropes & gathered much fine sulphur for them.  While they returned to the base of the mt. with it he remained to get more but a fierce gale sprang up and blew so hard for three days that no one dared go up the mt.  When the gale ended they hurried up & to the border of the crater calling the name of the man below.  They were surprised to hear him reply, in a weak voice & postering to let down
