Articles of agreement between W. H. Chalhoun employer and the undersigned Freedmen Laborers of the State of Mississippi and County of Pontotoc this the 14th day of August 1865.
 
Art. 1st W.H. Chalhoun is to furnish the undersigned with Houses, Food, Clothing, And Medicines of a good sufficient quantity as heretofore for the balance of the year 1865.
 
2nd They are to have (1/10) one tenth of the corn, Peas, Potatoes & wheat grown & saved on the farm deducting food for themselves & animals
 
3rd Loss of time to be charged to them, to be deducted out of any product at the rate of fifty cents per day of sick & seventy five cents per day if from other causes.
 
4th The division of the product is to be made when all is gathered & they are to divide their part among themselves.

5th They are to obey the orders of the said employer or his agent and to do promptly & faithfully all work on the premises as heretofore.
