Memorandum of an agreement made this 24 day of September 1865, between W A Morgan in the first part, of Shell Bluff plantation county of Sunflower, State of Mississippi and Freedmen in 2" part, of said plantation county of Sunflower State of Mississippi

Witnesseth, That said W A Morgan, for the consideration hereinafter mentioned, agrees to furnish the freedmen Whose names are signed upon the back of this instrument with good comfortable quarters one winter suit of clothing, 1 P. shoes 3 yds of shirting, good wholesome food, and such primary [[books?]] as they may need for [[his studies?]] from this date until the first day of Jany 1866 at which time this agreement expires

And the said Freedmen, for the consideration herein before mentioned agrees to serve the said W A Morgan in the capacity of Laborers, rendering him ten hours faithful work each day (Saturday evening, & Sunday excepted) That we will  at all times be respectful honest & obedient endearing [[endeavoring]]  to please him in all things
