the first we had slept in cotton sheets this spring. so you see we had been cool up here until this week. now I guess we are going to sweat a little. yesterday I hunted worms on the grapevines. they come as soon as the vines start. fruit seems to be starting pretty good, plenty little pears are setting & also apples. trees were full, so if nothing happens there will be lots this year. The baby is improving I see in getting around, all she needs now is courage. stand her up against the wall & hold out your arms to her just ahead of her, and she will come to you, try it & see, thats the way I used to do. be ready to catch her if she falls. We are eating oranges & bananas cut up in sugar for sauce nights. I have not had a box of straw berries yet. they are pretty plenty though in the market. but are .30 & .35 cts the natives I dont think have come around yet. Our markets are full of fruit, these new ones are like Brockton, a great display as you look in their windows. but I usually go to Louie Greens for our fruit, & so does Arthur. Ruby is taking long rides in the new Auto, & guess Mary & Jim are riding more than ever before, she is a good daughter & gives up her time to her parents in their old age which we are very thankful to see. Ma.
