I have been tormented with them lately. the last one I jammed with a board in the sewing room as he ran into those packing box shelves. darn nasty little vermin they make me sick getting into the food. I cleaned my front room and did up the curtains Friday. next I will clean the front chamber. Ma [[/top margin]]

Dear Doris

Well we are having a nice cool sunny morning. the wind got into the North during the night, after a warm day. Pa has just got home with the Sunday paper, & I have finished my dishes.

Yesterday I was setting out my pots of plants out of doors to get them used to out side air before putting them into the ground. I have my beds spaided up ready to put them in, & all the things brought up from the cellar as bulbs fairy lilly & amarillis & such. I have planted a lot of Oriental poppy seeds in a box in the house, & they have come up thick as spatters every seed, I guess, & now where to plant them is more than we know, some where so they can be seen & where it is rich & sunny. I am going to give Tina some, as she says she does not have any luck planting the seeds. my old ones are budded, but that place is too full of witch grass for them to grow well in. Pa came home with a box of tomatoes yesterday mine are growing fast but are not large enough to set out. I hope they will do better than they did last year, as they did not ripen
