Dear Doris

I should think by your letter you were much blossomed out, down in Virginia. While we are hardly aware that spring has really begun. The cold weather is loth to leave us. Sunday was a terrible cold day with us, a cold North West wind making it disagreeable to be out. Pa got cold working out in it. putting his brush on Pete McGarveys pile, to burn at some future time. He was down to South Braintree all day yesterday, with the other Asserors [[Assessors]] & Fred Vanstone rode dow [[down]] with them then to cemetery meeting all the evening, so it seemed an awful long day to me & stormy at that. Our green grass shows up, since the three last rainy days, night before last we had, all around us, pretty sharp lightning and distant rumbling of thunder. So Pa early in the evening, shut off the radio. We had from WEEI quite are entertainment all the evening I was listening in, & it seemed good. For we havent been able to pick it
