Dear Doris

We are having two Spring like days for the first time since Monday which was a snow feeling atmosphere all day. I could not get warm no frogs to be heard yet, but if this mild weather continues the ponds will be melting & then we can hear their welcomed croaks once more. Pa heard a song sparrow this week, but no blue bird yet. I have got my rugs out airing, also the mattress and coverings in the bay window & the back rooms cleaned out & all my ashes sifted and put out, with a tapioca pudding baking in the oven, so I feel as if everything is moving along all right, & if I can get my letter written then can go down town, for I want several thing at the store. this is Pa's day for bringing up Rachies, George Monks & Jack Waylands, so by getting my things home, I will be helping, see.

Monday I went over to see Gertrudes babies. Little Frank looks like Isabell Burnham very fair, but the other one is dark. he is fat, 9 months old, she puts him on the floor with something under him & pillows at his back
