Dear Doris,

We are having a cold week so far but no snow. I am in hopes that the weather will change before night, it was 10° this morning but the wind died down so that we dont feel it as we did yesterday.

I went down to see Lotty Stickney Monday, she was used up with her heart, ever since she went to the Burnhams funeral. Freddie was with her, so was Annie Lee, she, Annie Lee, told me all about her husband in his last sickness, & how he suffered, poor thing. Tina called up on the telephone & she wantid to know when I was coming up. she has also been sick with her liver & gallstones. She is lonesome, I guess, when spring comes we shall all rejoice but it is pretty far away yet, although this month is half gone to day. Pa was saying that we were burning more coal than common this year, but we dont more than keep warm. & some would freeze. Lena for instance, it is to be hoped she is having it warm wherever she
