Dear Doris After two days of cold fridgid temperature we are glad for a rise, in hopes of still more, as the day advances it feels like more snow with a north west wind. January is certainly going out cold. All we do is to shovel in coal, & then  with such a cold wind of yesterday, it was impossible to keep warm, although the sun was good & bright. It is still very icy I don't go out for fear of slipping down, so poor Pa has all the trucking to do. the boys skate to school. I was glad the little chair got there at last. Pa took great pains in packing it properly, so there was no need of worrying about its reception. The day Pa went in town he looked all around for a crosley set but finally decided there
