I suppose Sidney is home to day & the little one is sleeping in her carriage, it is three oclock by our time. Pa has cleaned out this pen, & another one, so that they do pretty well no more dipping into ink, they are filled & writing smoothly. Mrs. Griffin did come to Stoughton before she went back home, so the Churchills told me, she stayed over night at Hattie Smiths & about ten minutes with them only as she had to hurry to get back home that night again. I got a xmas card from her so then Saturday I wrote her. Our turkey still hangs on I am going to cream some for supper We like it so it makes something good for supper. I made a custard & a mince pie this morning. for my mince pie I use dried apple it give them a lively taste & no clove so then they dont hurt one ginger instead Lena does them that way a good way to.
