Article of Agreement
Between J.T. Mcgee & D.N. Cress
known as the firm of Mcgee and Cress parties of the first part, and hearin after mentiond a Freedman a party of the second part; wherein the party of the second part does agree to perform good and faithful labor from dawn of day until dark with sufficient time for meals; he to be connected to the mill business, such as wagoner, to do all hauling connected with the business in and about the establishment, also at the Rockport Mill, to take good care of team and wagon, to be obedient to all orders from the parties of the first part or there agents, and to labor each and every day in the week except the sabbath.

Wherein losses may be sustained by negligence to business or disobedience to orders, the party of the second part shall forfeit such amount of his wages as may be deemed proper by parties of the first part to replace the damage, and in each and every case where the parties of the second part shall be found to lay up under false pretences of sickness he shall also forfeit sufficient of his wages to justify the loss sustained, and in each and every case where the party of the second part may quit work and violate his contract he shall forfeit all of his wages and be subject to the law binding Freedman to their agreements.
