Rules

The laborer will be required to rise at the blowing of the horn at day break, and begin work at sunrise in winter, eating breakfast previous to going to the field; the remainder of the year to commence work soon after day light & breakfast in plantation.

For all time lost and for bad work, deductions will be made. 

During work hours, the laborers will receive no visits nor visit at any time without permission of manager.

All abuse or improper use of stock & losing tools, gear &c. will be charged against laborer. 

Every laborer must feed & attend to the stock & do other necessary work assigned to him or to her, Sundays included. 

For impudent, profane, or indecent language, to or in the presence of employers, or quarreling, fighting, stealing, disobedience, willful neglect of duty, quitting work without permission, or offences of the like serious character, the laborer will be carried before a magistrate or other proper officer for punishment. All expense, loss of time &c will be charged against laborer.

In all cases of voluntarily quitting plantation the laborer will forfeit his portion of the crop & his family or dependents will be dismissed at the discretion of the manager.
