This agreement made this 10th day of Janry 1866 between J M Rucker and Sarah Evans freedwoman both of the County of Holmes & state of Mississippi

Witnesseth That the said Sarah Evans freedwoman agrees to work and perform all the duties of a hired servant for & during the year 1866 for said Rucker and further agrees to obey all Commands given by said Rucker or his representatives to be pleasant & agreeable at all times for and in Consideration of one hundred dollars to be paid by said Rucker at the expiration of the year

The said Rucker is in addition to furnish the said Sarah with one worsted dress to be paid during the fall of 1866 and to furnish good quarters and rations and nothing more

Witness our hands and souls this day and date first aforesaid

Recd to the parties agreed to signed seals and delivered in duplicate in the presence of the undersigned an acting Justice of the peace in and for the County of Holmes & state of Mississippi
