William B. Johnston of Yazoo County, Mississippi contracts and agrees with the freedmen Seth Johnston, Sam Johnston, George Lewis and the women Betsy Clark & her children five in number, Etta Johnston & her children five in number Rose Johnston and Mollie Clark as follows

The said Johnston contracts and agrees to to pay the said Seth the sum of ten dollars per month, San and Ethan his wife & five children the sum of twelve dollars & a half per month George the sum of six dollars per month Rose & Mollie each four dollars per month all of said amount to be paid quarterly to said freedmen if requires if not to be paid at the end of the year 1866 and to furnish them with sufficient good and wholesome food comfortable quarters & fuel and to give each three suits of clothing two summer & one winter suit and to give each two pairs of shoes and one hat and to pay all their necessary expenses

The said Johnston contracts & agrees to furnish the the freedwomen Betsy Clark and her children five in number, and, Amana Clark three in number with good wholesome and sufficient food clothing and quarters & fuel & to pay all necessary expenses

The said Johnston further agrees to give the head of each family one acre of good land and cultivate it in any thing except cotton
