Agreement entered into between Mrs. L. O. Burrus and Freedmen Elija

1st Elija agrees to cultivate Mrs. Burruses garden, perform all work connected thereto; to cut all the wood necessary on the lot, to attend to stable, horse, or horses, black shoes and hooves, go on errands when required, and do jobs connected with the premises.

2nd Mrs. Burrus agrees that when Elija is not engaged in doing said services, shall have the time not so employed, to work for himself.

3rd All loss of time, after three days illness to be deducted from his wages.

4" Mrs. Burrus agrees to pay Elija six dollars per month ($ 6) a reasonable amount of fuel, food and attention in sickness.

5" Mutually agreed that this contract is to continue until the 1st day of January 1867.
