And Agreement and Contract made this the 3d day of January 1866 By and between E.P. Odoneal of the first & the within named Freedmen & Freedwomen of the Second part, All of the County of Lowndes and State of Mississippi.

The said part of the first part agrees to pay parties of the Second part, according to classification, the Sum Set opposite their names (with deductions for dependents) for their labour for the year 1866 One half [[strikethrough]] to half [[/strikethrough]] to be due at the end of each month, and the ballance to be due the first of January next.  And shall furnish Said parties of the Second part and their dependants, quarters and good & sufficient food, Medical attention, clothing and other Supplies for said Laborers & their dependants, furnished at the expense of Said Laborers.

And it agreed on the part of the Laborers, that they will well and faithfully perform any and all labor as the employer or manager may require of them for the year 1866, It is further agreed the rules hereto attached, Shall be made a part of this contract; and that if the said laborers become idle, or refuse to work when able to do so or feign Sickness or leave the plantation, Such fact being established before the proper officer, then this contract Shall be at an end, and the Said parties shall forfeit all unpaid wages
The dependants are to be under the same rules & obligations as the Laborers and when they are minors, punishment will be inflicted by their parents or Manager
In testimony wherof Said parties have herunto affixed their names to this agreement on the day & year first above written,
