shall be made a part of this contract and that if said parties of the second part become idle or refuse to work when able to do so, or leave the plantation, then and in that case this contract to be annulled and said Laborer or Laborers so defaulting shall forfeit all wages for past services first approved by an Agent of the Freed Bu. or Magistrate. Children to be furnished with food and quarters at expence of employer, but subject to same rules and regulations as Laborers and punished when they do wrong.

Rules

1st Laborers to rise at blowing of the horn at daybreak and begin work at or before sunrise, the beginning and leaving off of work to be at discretion of the employer, bad work and idleness to be charged for and deducted from the wages of the Laborer. Two hours rest at noon to be allowed in summer months and one hour at all other seasons.

2nd Police regulations to be at discretion of employer and no visiting allowed during work hours or receiving of visitors without his consent.

3d Difficulties between Laborers to be adjusted by Employer.

4th Every Laborer must attend to and feed stock at all times.
