An agreement and Contract made and Entered into this day and date above named by and between Henry King Lessee of said Plantation party of the first part and the within named  Freedmen and Freedwomen parties of the second part, all of the County of Lowndes and State of Mississippi.

The said party of the first part agrees to pay the parties of the second part according to classification with deductions for dependants, for their labor, for the year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty Six (1866) the following proportion of the Crop made during the year on said Plantation, viz: One third (1/3) of the net proceeds of the Crop of Cotton after deducting the Expenses of said Crop of Cotton- such as preparing it for and carrying it to market; and in addition, said party of the first part shall furnish said parties of the second part, Quarters and Rations at the rate of three and one half pounds of Bacon and one Peck
