Contract between Chas. H. Chapin, Harrison White, [[strikethrough]] Anderson [[/strikethrough]] Andrew Emery, and Marvin Farley of first part, and the persons of color whose names are subjoined, of second part, agree to the following terms:— the parties of the second part are to work on the Plantation owned by the parties of the [[strikethrough]] second [[/strikethrough]] first part, (said Plantation being in Coahoma Co. Miss. on the north side of Yazoo Pass) the whole of the ensuing year of 1866 for and in consideration of one third of the crop of cotton and corn raised by them on said Plantation. They are to do all the general work on the plantation, such as repairing fences, and such other work as may be necessary to ensure the crop. They are to obey the instruction of the parties of the first part, and to be guided by the laws of Freedmens Bureau. Said parties of the [[strikethrough]] second [[/strikethrough]] first part, are to furnish Quarters, Fuel, Rations, farming implements & teams free of charge, said crop of Cotton and Corn shall be divided as soon as gathered.
