Articles of Agreement between J.S. Curtiss of Noxubee Co Miss of the first part and Abram Jones, Bill Richards, Dick Barnes, George Weston & John Jones, Freedmen of Memphis Tenn. of the second part 
Witnesseth. That the said part of the first part engages & contracts to & with the said party of the second part to retain them in his service until the 1st day of January 1867. To furnish them good rations (Coffee & sugar or Molasses included). Also 2 suits of working clothing—Pay Droters bills & pay them at rate of Ten dollars per month until the 1st day of January 1867 half of said wages to be paid at the end of every month. The balance at the end of the term of service.

The said party of the second part promise & agree to work upon the said
