This agreement made and entered into this the 10th day of January A.D. 1866 between Mary D. Gibson and Elbert Gibson, Martha Gibson Washington Gibson, Eady Gibson & Patience Gibson freedman and freedwoman Witnesseth:— That said Mary D. Gibson has this day, for the consideration hereafter named, employed the above parties, for the year A.D. 1866, on the following terms to wit—:

Said Mary D. Gibson agrees to furnish the said freedman & freedwoman with land animals and farming utensils to cultivate the same and seed to plant the above land and good and sufficient rations for the above laborers for the year A.D. 1866 and said freedman and freedwoman on their part hereby agree to do good and faithful work for the Said Mary D. Gibson for the whole of the year A. D. 1866, to obey all her orders, whether at work at the crop or otherwise, to treat the said Mary D. Gibson and her family in an obedient and respectful manner and to attend to all the affairs of the place in such a way as they may be directed by the said Mary D. Gilson and then— when the crop is raised by the laborers as aforesaid it is to be shared between the said Mary D. Gibson and Elbert Gibson Washington Gibson, Martha Gibson and Eady Gibson.
