Articles of Agreement
Between N.N. Coward of the Co[[unty]] of Scott and State of Mississippi of [[the]] first part and the undersigned [[?]] Cullored woman of the Second [[part]]
that the [[said]] party of the first part has this [[day]] employed the Said party of the second part for the year As one thousand eight hundred and Sixty Six commencing [[on the?]] first of January and ending the thirty first of December the Said party of the first part agrees to pay the amount annexed to hir name in the currency of the country on or before the first day of January AD 1867 and to furnish hir and hir children with rations and harriet coward and bitha and gorg cowards with too suits of Clothing Cotten one par of shoes a peac and pay thar Doctor Bill and furnish hir too young children Lewis and alice with food and Clothing and medical attention.  
The said party of the Second part oblegat themselves to do good and faithful labor willing by and according to the order of the party of the first part  the parte of the Second part bind hir self to make up all lost tim or deduct from there wages in proportion to the amount to be paid the said party of the Second part furthermore agrees to keep good order in all particulars should the said party of the S part fail to comply with hir obligation the parte of the Second part shall abid the Laws
