In reply to yours of the 22, I would say that it is now too late to make arrangements for the ladies alluded to. This department is authorized to maintain teachers (by recent orders) but can not locate them in advance of their arrival. 
You should report at this place and stop at the Commercial Hotel.

Can an average attendance of 120 or 125 be secured and accommodated, thus giving employment to three teachers?

I have the honor to request that Mr. James O. Lyman, missionary teacher, be assigned to duty as such at Fort Smith, Ark. with pay at the rate of $80.00 per month. this amount being the same heretofore paid him by the American Miss. Association.- Also that Miss D.F. Getman be assigned to Pine Bluff with pay at $50.00 per month. These persons have heretofore labored in this state and they are now in the field and hold commissions under the Am. Miss. Assocn
