Dear Sir:
I am authorized by the Asst. Comm.+ Chief [[?]] of Schools to pay that rent for a [[?]] school house at Van Buren will upon proper application be allowed from Oct. 1, 1868, to March 1, 1869, provided a School was kept [[?]] and these [[?]] de-ficiency in the payment of the [[?]] of the[[?]]. Also that if a School in addition to the one now kept in the new School building can be put in operation with 25 pupils or more, a building for the use of the same may be [[?]] at the expense of the Bureau.

Dear Sir: 
Agreeably to [[?]] I forwarded you school [[?]] and [[?]] room after my return here, and [[?]] they come [[?]] & home. I first the colored folks are reaking [[?]] with the school house and that we shall have the [[?]] to aid them next month by giving them rent for their building.
Please give me any information you have been able to obtain concerning the school at the "colony" in Franklin County, and [[?]].
