Sec'y A.M.A. Chicago, Ill.
Dear Sir,
Yours of the 18th is at hand today. I should have said in my last that all teachers except for Helena and Camden should come without delay. Doubtless Mr. Hughes presence would facilitate the decreasing of back pay, but that may not be a sufficient reason for his going to Arkansas instead of Missouri
I have nothing from General Balloch touching back rents. Wrote the Friends at Helena when at Memphis on my return, and also after my return have enquiring if they have Peabody and for their normal classes, but up to this time get no reply.
Respectfully & truly Yours,
Mr. M. Colby,
Supt. Education
